Sen. Alex Padilla, who was just forcibly removed from a DHS press conference, is the ranking member of Judiciary’s subcommittee on immigration, citizenship, and border safety, which has “oversight of federal agencies with citizenship, asylum, refugee, and immigration enforcement responsibilities.”

A DHS spokesperson defended the detainment, accusing Sen. Padilla of failing to properly identify himself during Sec. Kristi Noem's press conference.

But multiple videos show Padilla clearly identifying himself as a senator.

The immigration policy, and especially the way the administration is choosing to carry it out, is an excuse to call out the military.

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers.

That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

Your safety is the top priority. Peaceful protesters have already been harmed for doing nothing. The story they’re selling isn’t legit. Please film everything, document everything.

There is no bigger story right now than the White House asserting that California residents are in a state "of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States."

Gov. Gavin Newsom said on social media that California National Guard was being taken over by the federal government “not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.”

When the LA police says you are overreaching, you are overreaching.

1/ If accurate, this is almost certainly a conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the use of the military for domestic law enforcement, including the National Guard if they are federalized.
