Reading through Reddit forums like r/professors is often deeply depressing.
Some of the educators on there seem to just really hate their students and teaching and have a reductive us vs them mindset.
If you hate and distrust the students that much just quit?

Twitter is cratering. Despite the inevitability I still feel sad.
He didnβt buy that place to save it, to grow itβ¦he bought it to shift the Overton window to the right.
But it was also home for millions of people.

I have a spare ticket for Lion King on Sunday (tomorrow) at 14:30 at the Lyceum theatre. It is a Disney Magical Mondays ticket so only Β£29.50 (a big saving on the normal price). The seat is in row ZA at the back of stalls. Anyone interested?

Things we're leaving in 2023:
-apologizing for credit card fraud
-being a people-pleaser with the FBI
-feeling shame about the things that bring us joy (walking around cemeteries looking for names to put on loan applications)

Giving a big talk tomorrow in Brisbane about the decline of free expression globally, and its particular impact on LGBTQ+ communities and sex workers, and how it's all intertwined, just as human rights are interconnected. I'm excited and also a bit anxiousβthis is my first keynote since 2019!

RFK Jr: Pee is stored in the balls, OK?
Rogan: Wow. In the balls? How does nobody knows this?
RFK Jr: There are literally tens of thousands of studies that show pee is stored there, in the balls
Rogan: Wow. Wow. So like, does that mean girls donβt pee?
RFK Jr: Now youβve gone beyond my expertise

So I 110% get the business importance of these huge platforms - but Iβm not sure I believe itβs *worth* it anymore.
