I love pretty much all aspects of this hobby, but Armies is really special to me. Theres something about spending the year building and painting a whole army that makes you feel real accomplished at the end…

Can’t wait to see what everyone else in the local community has brought to the party - I’ve seen at least one WIP Krieg entry that I love…

Especially looking forward to the Youngbloods category. The yoofs of Warhammer keep raising the bar every year, it’s awesome.

Not indicative of final layout, but I think my Armies on Parade project for this year has crossed the threshold into “good enough” territory and I can display with my head held high. I’d like to add a few more things but time is tight now!

I can’t wait to get going, and I’m feeling so privileged to be trusted with helping to shape the worlds and stories I’ve loved for so long - especially as my eldest daughter takes her first steps into miniature painting!!

I started my new job this week at Games Workshop! I’m sick with excitement.

My eldest painted her first mini at a local ren faire today - and the spooky part is, she picked the exact same model as MY first ever mini, nearly three decades ago. Funny how fate works.

I’m chipping away at this team occasionally in the evening. I’ve never painted in this style before, the heavy weathering is fun to do. I think it needs poppy highlights before before the oil wash pass, as it’s getting a little homogenous in tone - and some coloured details to add variation.

Small Gaslands update: expanded my first team with T-Wrecks, and I’m starting to feel out the general aesthetic for my roster.

I just found out that my local armies on parade day will be in early September - with starting my new job in August, I’m not sure that I’m going to have the time to finish it - certainly not the display board at any rate.

Wondering if I’ve done enough with what I have already…

Went to a Gaslands intro event, built and prepped my first car for painting. Really enjoyed it!

I’m sort of worried about it but it seems like they just dress up like crows and run around doing pranks for eight hours?

Signed some stuff for this today. Still can’t quite believe it.

There’s a Gaslands scene picking up steam at my LGS so I picked up some cars to experiment with building some post apocalyptic stupidity. Any suggestion? Bus, truck and buggy I think.

I promised this bottle of umeshu to myself on the day I got a job. Today’s the day lads, let’s crack this one. Sláinte.
