They also apparently worked on this film.

Basically we (and by that I mean 'I') got the name of the company producing it wrong since I misread it once like 10 years ago and every time I've searched for something related to them it was close enough that it always went straight to where I needed to go so I never noticed hah

Also, not really the point, but it also looks like shit.
Look at any one detail for more than a second and you can see it's just a garbled mess.
I understand the logic, it's just a little ad image, you want to knock something together quickly and cheaply, what's the harm?
But AI generated images are made from stolen art, so you're telling everyone who buys your paints that you don't value artists. Which is a bold choice, I'll give them that
Fascinated by a company who makes art supplies and yet assumes that its customers won't be a bit pissed off by them doing the one thing any company related to art should not be doing in 2025.

I’ve always found it so quaint how the UK government and police can only ever refer to these as “ninja swords”.
We are not a country who will ever learn one of them foreign names for things.
Basically a 'you can decide how much of a deal-breaker this is for you' kind thing.
On reflection, I feel the final video should have a little more fire to it, but at a certain point of rewriting a thing you just need to put it out and hope people understand where you're coming from.
The section about the War Games nonsense was rewritten many times since we didn't want it to take up most the vid and it easily could have. In the end we aimed for a tone that was more about informing people what they were getting into whilst expressing disappointment at the whole mess.

In most ways I genuinely really like it, but it has one really big problem that's kinda mitigated if you know what you're doing but also kinda not. It's hard to write a balanced take on that.

I get that. I suspect it wouldn't bother me so much is the Heresy era didn't have such a restricted palette (how many black painted legions do we really need?), so I think I'm crying out for more vibrancy hah

I like it much better.
I think it's a set of colours that need a bit of oomph to really pop, and the kinda desaturated look the Heresy era ones have just lack that.
I imagine it's just something about the shade of green used in combination with the other tones there.
One of those 'if I painted one I'd just use a different green and all my issues would disappear' kinda deals. Petty, subjective preferences, basically.
They're incredibly well painted, don't get me wrong, leagues better than anything I could hope to accomplish. I am just making peace with the fact there's something about the pre-heresy Salamanders scheme that I don't like.
Not even sure what it is. It just looks off to me.
Seeing more and more people painting their Saturnine Terminators, I am realising that, although I still think they lack a lot of goofy charm of the originals, a lot of my dislike of them from the reveal was just the paint scheme of the studio minis.
