I can sense you don’t live in Australia and know nothing about First Nations? Their culture and way of living is way more evolved than the hunter gatherer cliche suggests. They were much healthier and happier than the Europeans who colonized them

I used to think like that, until I moved to Australia and learned about Aboriginal First Nations. Lived in harmony with nature and each other, lived long healthy lives full of art and celebrations, for over 60.000 years. And that is in ALL our history

Sanford grandfather, born in refugee camp, nabbed by ICE after 70 years in U.S. Paul Bojerski never gained official residency, but he checked in regularly with ICE for years. Then in July, at age 79, he was detained and sent to Alligator Alcatraz.

79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

I live in Australia where the indigenous peoples have lived for 60.000 years in harmony with each other and nature.

We’re lucky much of their culture has survived and there are Elders who share their wisdom.

Their rule number one: never regard yourself as better than anyone or anything else.

The Aust Parliament Sports Club (the one that ditched David Pocock) is now formally registered as a lobby groupπŸ‘‡πŸ½

Anthony Albanese is the President of the Aust Parliament Sports Club.

That means the Prime Minister of Australia is currently the president of a lobby group.

Just utterly unbelievable.

Italy was on strike in solidarity with Palestinians last Monday.
Hundreds of thousands demonstrated blocking roads, ports & railway stations. In Rome, many drivers found themselves stuck in traffic β€” & were happy about it, saluting demonstrators & condemning Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.

As for biodiversity, a brand new study also confirms what's well established: overall ruminant meat, especially from grazing animals (which require more land, entailing more carbon & biodiversity opportunity costs) has the biggest 'extinction footprint' of all foods: www.nature.com/articles/s43...

I’m reading Marian Wilkinsons essay on Woodside. It’s spectacularly good and totally cringe. Much respect for all those who’ve worked hard to bring Woodside & State crimes to attention - including you David

Loved listening to Marian Wilkinson in particular. Such a clear voice describing the Woodside & State crimes.
Her essay is amazing, very well researched, reads like a novel. Many thanks for your important contribution to the truth

I wrote this story because the case of the Guatemalan children hasn’t received nearly as much media attention as it deserves.

I wanted to highlight the full extent of the government’s depraved conduct.

I hope you’ll read and share. Don’t look away.

How to help trigger positive tipping points – and speed up climate action The beauty of positive tipping points is that it only takes a small change to make a big difference.

Crossing climate tipping points, such as ice sheet loss and AMOC collapse, becomes possible beyond 1.5Β°C

To prevent this, emissions cuts need to speed up

Could +ve tipping points, shifts to zero-emissions technology and behaviour, foster self-sustaining change?

We're actually building several multi-GW clusters. We're calling the first one Prometheus and it's coming online in '26. We're also building Hyperion, which will be able to scale up to 5GW over several years. We're building multiple more titan clusters as well. Just one of these covers a significant part of the footprint of Manhattan.

Very cool that the broad techno-apologist effective altruist substack complex maintains that the energy consumption of AI is incredibly insignificant, while the tech overlords they're apologising for are casually dropping data centres on top of manhattan

Sand batteries are literally just silos of sand that retain heat exceptionally well -- so well that they can be tied to heat exchange systems to serve as proxy *electrical* batteries. Finland's new model can store enough power (100 MWh) to heat an entire town for a week.
