The only problem with this is that FIFA would manage to find some new bullshit Club World Cup format to cram into these weekends.

In general I think more footballers need to be protesting competitions like the Nations League and also the CWC.

but the bodies of players are already putting up with incredibly congested schedules and the options are either spreading the schedule out (also worth looking into) or giving the players more time to actually rest.

and instead give the players a few weekends sprinkled throughout the season where no football was played, dedicated to rest, I'd be more than happy to put up with it.

My biggest gripe with the international break is honestly that they end up risking injury in stupid competitions like the Nations League.

Tottenham is my Dad’s club so naturally I followed him in that.

To be honest I think I would’ve ended up a Tottenham fan anyway, Lennon and Bale are easily my favourite players ever.

I supported Tottenham because of my Dad, but I fell in love with the club because of them.

Unbelievably good midfielder, but I wouldn't be lying if I didn't say I had concerns about how long he's been out.

Hasn't played since April 2023, obvs he's been training in some capacity despite that but he's definitely an aging player and I think handing a new contract like that could be risky.
