Here to interact. Keen on photography... B&W captures in urban and rural environments. In the past I have dabbled with macro.

24.02.2026 13:43 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0I seem to recall seeing old B&W (circus or carnival) footage of Capuchins atop ponies trotting circles in a small ring

04.01.2026 02:14 ā š 0 š 0 š¬ 2 š 0Managed to dig up the lens and it wasn't an Ektar (I must have traded it) but rather a B&L Baltar 50mm f/2.3. Spiral on the Helicoid is similar but not the same. Sorry to have bothered you...

31.12.2025 21:54 ā š 2 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0You may be right. I think the lens I have is a "cinema" Ektar but I could never confirm it. What I really want to know is the flange to focal distance so I can try to rig up a 3d adapter print to give it a whirl on a mirrorless camera..
31.12.2025 02:51 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0I'll pull it out tomorrow, as I recall it was 35 or 50mm. It's just the lens housing assembly with iris and focusing helicoid. I searched for info on it but couldn't find anything specific online. This is the closest I've seen to it - specifically the helicoid groove.
31.12.2025 02:38 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0I have an old Ektar. The spiral groove on the interior of the barrel displayed is similar to the one I have. Mine is wider but same aperture. I never could find an adapter to put it on a mirrorless camera. I need to dig it out and see if I can find a 3D adapter print for it.
31.12.2025 02:21 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0Interesting concept in a digital image age. Looks like a hoot to shoot but I shudder to think what film would cost these days. I'd really like to see a compact camera like this with an updated Kodak CCD sensor, ~ 16mp would be fine.

11.09.2025 18:25 ā š 0 š 0 š¬ 1 š 0Is that an exposure meter atop the camera? If so details please...
11.09.2025 18:23 ā š 1 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0RF 35mm 1.8 is a great lens. Sharp corner-to-corner ~f/4. No hot spots on NIR. It balances well on FF or crop. RF 24mm f1/.8 macro is equally good if you want greater FOV. Both are excellent street lenses at moderate size.
10.09.2025 16:08 ā š 0 š 0 š¬ 0 š 0I only made it to the E-30 before I jumped to Canon for the MP-E 65. Like you, the "weakness" (limitation) of the camera forced me to learn why and improved my understanding of digital photography.
