The main challenge was just in the type system. Making the component powerful enough to justify its existence but generic enough to work with any arbitrary relational data.
MythKit isn't released yet, so no user engagement data. Soon though ๐

Building a new TTRPG worldbuilding and campaign management app... in public!
The main challenge was just in the type system. Making the component powerful enough to justify its existence but generic enough to work with any arbitrary relational data.

Solid #dev session tonight. The Tag system UI update isn't ready to demo yet, but is coming together nicely.
As part of this work I built a generic searchable-multiselect component, which I now use for Quick-Links, Mentions, etc. Allowed for some serious code cleanup.

I totally understand the urge to push it and do some dev on vacation, but I also think its the perfect time to give your brain a break and stay off the keyboard for a while! You'll probably come back with some fresh ideas and motivation.
Have fun skiing โท๏ธ
Greetings worldbuilders, #ttrpg people, and #buildinpublic community!
Back in action today. Got a good five or so hours to put towards MythKit dev. Going to work on piecing together the UI/UX of the new tag management system.
Today's dev soundtrack: Blood Incantation and Stormkeep ๐คโ๏ธ.
This is another mindset I love ๐ช We got this.

Will be MIA for the next couple days, but should be back with another update on the tags system late Sunday.
Have a great weekend everyone!

06.02.2026 01:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Table top role playing games! Dungeons and Dragons is the most well known example, but there are a lot of different flavors of TTRPG out there. Lots of fun to be had ๐

05.02.2026 22:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Nope, no need for that. Its all part of the process at this point. I'm still pre-alpha and experimenting with features, UI, etc. Just going with the flow.
05.02.2026 22:47 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lol. If I did it that way, I'd DEFINITELY have a 10k MRR SaaS app within a week, right? ๐
05.02.2026 22:44 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Fair enough, angry blue man! Once MythKit gets to a shippable state to begin with, I would definitely agree. A little ways to go before that, though :)

That was me tonight.

What about yourself? Got any strategies or workflow tricks you like to use to stay on track?

I keep a little Trello board for myself with my work broken down into tickets like I would with JIRA or something on a larger team. Even though its just me, it helps.
I'll usually toss a few tickets in my "In Progress" column and just see where my momentum takes me.
It would be cool to hear about anything from these topics that has inspired any of your own work on Zombie Exodus!

04.02.2026 22:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One night per week I dedicate the whole evening after work and before bed to a nice long MythKit #dev session.
Tonight is that night. Lets do this ๐

Super solid MythKit #dev session this evening! Continuing to build out the editor's Mentions system. The suggestions now have:
๐ Fuzzy search matching
๐ฅ Breadcrumbs (also included in search matching)
๐จ Query highlighting
#ttrpg #dnd #pathfinder #buildinpublic #worldbuilding
A screenshot of the MythKit UI demonstrating the mentions feature. The screenshot shows the editor with '@k' and a mentions/suggestions dropdown with results filtered on the letter 'k'.
Had a bit of time to work on the editor's mentions system this evening. It's functional at this point, but a bit sparse.
Tomorrow I'll add fuzzy search to it and some kind of breadcrumb-like context to the search matches.

Yeah I think you nailed it. Its tough... I want to do it ALL ๐ But, gotta stay focused the mission.
03.02.2026 02:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yeah, deceptively complex is a good way to put it.
Its interesting to hear that clipboard paste is more useful for your workflow. I can see that being the case too - a user finds an image online and wants to quickly copy & dump it into their entry.
Just standard image formats for now. Video later!
Fun #dev session for MythKit today. I've added rudimentary image support to the editor.
Right now only copy/paste is supported, but single & bulk file upload support will be coming soon.

Thanks! I'm especially excited to add in rich and customizable keyboard control. I envision a workflow where a GM or worldbuilder can create and find their content without ever having to move their hand to a mouse or a trackpad.
