A scanned Supreme Court of the United States order, dated November 6, 2025, in the case Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, et al. v. Ashton Orr, et al., No. 25A319. The document discusses an Executive Branch policy requiring passports to display an individual’s biological sex at birth. The highlighted passage reads: “Displaying passport holders’ sex at birth no more offends equal protection principles than displaying their country of birth—in both cases.” The Court grants the government’s application for a stay at this preliminary stage, reasoning that the government is likely to succeed on the merits and that the policy does not violate equal protection principles.

SCOTUS has granted a stay in Trump v. Orr, the trans passport case, meaning that the government will be able to once again deny gender marker changes to trans passport applicants.

This is a terrible decision with horrifying consequences for trans folks.

His Works Completed, Dick Cheney, Mass Murderer of Iraqis and American Democracy, Dies As much as the Trumpists claim to disavow the War on Terror, they walk a path paved by the most powerful vice president in U.S. history.

All day, many of you have been asking for a Cheney obituary from me. Get ready:

Diversity doesn’t weaken unions. Racist bosses like Vance using racism to divide workers by race so they can exploit them weakens unions. All this stuff is arsonists complaining about the temperature in the building they set on fire. bsky.app/profile/diew...

This is exactly the same argument — and, in parts, even the same language — that segregationists advanced to argue that white people had a “right” not to live next to people who were different from them.

Americans Are Getting a Look at Next Year’s ACA Premiums and Many Don’t Like It Many Affordable Care Act enrollees could pay hundreds of dollars more if they stick with their health plans.

Sticker shock for ACA recipients:

Clint and Cindy Kittrell, Oregon: $305/month --> $2,500/month.

Chad and Tara Smith, Idaho: $710/month --> $1,000/month.

Jessica Bunger, Florida: New premiums quadruple to $1,100/month. "I’ve never felt so powerless in my life"

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

SNAP is not the reason your taxes are high.

SNAP recipients don’t need to “just go get a job”.

Most of them work. The rest are disabled, elderly, children or caregivers.

People need & deserve assistance

Your taxes fund wars and tax cuts for the ultra rich

Be mad about that

White words on a black background read:

Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

~130
Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

Now more than ever we need to be amplifying mutual aid.

Donate to local food banks and community fridges.

Check on the people in your life who may be struggling. Offer to drop off some groceries or a home made meal.

Without November SNAP there will be many people going hungry.
Help where you can

A shared pattern: Purdue and Indiana University have suppressed student media On Tuesday the Indiana Daily Student found out its director would be fired immediately and its print would be discontinued. This suppression of student media is a common theme throughout the state.

Purdue administration has also clashed with our student paper, The Exponent, as Emery Denham, campus editor, reports here. Purdue has stopped distributing The Exponent on campus and pulled The Exponent's status as a Purdue vendor, putting visas at risk for Exponent employees.

More than 20 citizens held for day or more, incommunicado
