will we survive the next 3 years? things that people here believed "only happen in countries over there" are happening here, & it's only going to get worse. people like me, who are vulnerable, disabled, queer...we are always the ones to be targeted first, & historically, no one will care

the worst thing about the 90's era of X-men (& their satellites), for me, was Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, & Scott Lodbell 🤦🏼‍♀️👎🏼

yep! the X-men & their satellite books were definitely in a state of flux during that time. I remember reading UXM 247 & 248, when we lost Rogue & Storm back to back, Longshot quit, & Wolverine was MIA, & thinking, "WHAT IS HAPPENING!? 😭" & then the surviving x-men went through the siege perilous!

think the x-men's AOV crossover was meant to be a vehicle for wolverine, more than anything 😒 Betsy was just an add-on, as they overhauled her, but even then, that was only supposed to last through the duration of this arc, sadly that was not case.

it is interesting, b/c Magneto was appearing in other "main" AOV books, when he should've been used in the X-men's AOV crossover. 1/2

Betsy still, sort of, looked like "herself" during this arc, especially after she broke the Hand's hold over her. Claremont said it was all supposed to be temporary, but he was forced out shortly after, & Jim Lee & Bob Harass wanted to lean into the "sexy asian ninja" bit 😒

Lady Mandarin* I have mixed feelings about this acts of vengeance crossover, b/c of what it ultimately lead to (30 years of the infamous "Body swap") but back then, this was BETSY just altered by the Hand & Spiral (& it was supposed to only be temporary)

she was wearing the Mandarin's rings. She wore them several times before she broke the Hand's conditioning.

watching S1- S4 as they aired, the show was deserving of the hype. But the show clearly peaked at S4, & it was downhill from there. Also, the show lasted WAY longer than it should have. Even the comic ended before the show did.
