60 seconds of highlights from 2024!

Got invited to substitute teach the art classes at my kid’s school for the next three weeks. First project was these winter-y crayon rubbings. The idea was super inspired by Ezra Jack Keats’ endpapers in The Snowy Day.

It was in a giant auditorium and multiple schools from the area were shuttled in. I honestly dont remember getting the book signed. I was pretty young, and my one memory is that I thought she seemed annoyed by the kind of kid questions she was being asked during the Q&A

In college we had a group of over 100 students who would get together weekly to read a chapter of Pooh aloud while we sat on little carpet squares. We called ourselves the A.A.Milne Society and it was the second largest campus organization. #kidlitchat

Studying in my college library, I glanced up and Eric Rohmann’s “Cinder-Eyed Cats” cover was staring at me from across the room. I had no choice but to stand, cross the room, and crack the book open. I was hooked. I knew I too wanted to make books and art that move people. #kidlitchat
