Oh! I thought I'd made new #fungifriends this afternoon, but I think this is in fact liverwort. Very pretty all the same and tiny - these are maybe 5mm or less in diameter.

Schizophyllum commune, sweet find!

T'is almost Verpa season, harbinger of Morel season. In Quesnel, we find these pop up about 2-3 weeks before morels are in full gear so are a good way to prepare for a morel hunt. Do you eat Verpas? Do you like them? #Quesnel #fungifriends #mushrooms

Sweet, I just posted some fresh P. crispa from a hike last weekend if you want to compare pics.

No problem, if I had to put a species name on it I'd say X. parietina

A dense cluster of Plicatura crispa, they have begun to widen, fan out and mature. The ridged false gills can be seen on the underside.

Plicatura crispa, this lovely little mushroom grows in winter and spring here. Always love to look at the gills, not sure why we didn't manage to get any good shots of them the other day.

Dang, I love me some Xanthoria. Awesome find, this is amazing.

Today’s hike, I think I came across an Orange Mock Oyster. I’ve never seen one before, but I’ve never hiked this early in the season. It was like frozen and snowy two days ago. #fungifriends #erie #mushrooms

Awesome find, what a magnificent flush. How did they smell? I have yet to find any that actually smell.
