This is happening far too often. And if SCOTUS sides with Trump on the birthright case, it will escalate. US citizens will be detained and jailed indefinitely, and the next person caught in the crossfire could be you or someone you care about.

On a more serious note, I can’t help but wonder how much of this wartime footing is about establishing hemispheric dominance and not about either of the two countries that are actual threats?
