The original Tetsuwan Atom OP was just instrumental by Tatsuo Takai for the first 30 episodes, but once Fuji TV & ad company Mannesha noticed that the English dub added lyrics they requested the Japanese show also get lyrics for its OP.

In a sense, the (vocalized) anime OP is an American creation.
