I feel that separating yourself from a creator’s works after said creator is unmasked as a terrible person is valid. I just find it disingenuous when people claim to have “never” liking it. 9 out of 10 times someone says that, they’re trying to score brownie points.

Some of the greatest artists who ever lived were terrible people and influenced millions, if not billions, of people.

That’s just an inconvenient truth.

one thing that would be cool, when prominent creators turn out to be terrible people, would be if we didn't have to go through this performative dance of insisting that their work was never good in the first place.
