Finally, we understand the purpose of the 2nd amendment. The right to bear arms, should some tinpot dictator like Trump come along.

Are Labour really going to try and tie current economic damage (and hence the need for further tax rises) to Farage and to Brexit, whilst at the same time insisting that persevering with Brexit is the right thing to do?

That feels like gaslighting of the very highest order.

I visited Istanbul as a student in 1974. We stayed in the Pera Palas hotel, where Ataturk and Agatha Christie stayed. We ate doner kebabs (then virtually unknown in the UK) on the old Galata bridge, and balık ekmek (fish in bread) cooked on boats on the quayside.

No hotdogs, curry, or pizza for true Brits.

No one will gain other than house builders who will push up prices to absorb the newly available spending power. There's a housing shortage, so prices cannot fall. The net effect of abolishing stamp duty will be to divert money currently going into public services into shareholders' pockets.
