OPPORTUNITY • Simplifying the system with a Flat Tax. A flat income tax means there is one tax rate for almost everyone, as well as companies and trusts. This makes tax administration simpler and minimises opportunities to avoid tax. Combined with the Citizen's Income, almost all lower and middle income Kiwis will be better off under Opportunity's flat tax system. It's simple, transparent and stops 'bracket creep' (where inflation unfairly increases your tax bill over time).

The Tasman Glacier at 43°37' S, 170°12' E as viewed from 37,000 feet

Flying past the Tasman Glacier the other day. Made me reminisce about the days of flying past Puncak Jaya Glacier. That was at 2°S latitude vs 43°S here. In any case they're both receeding faster than my hairline.

Such an amazing country and even in the southern hemisphere so few people know much about the worlds 4th most populous country. Such a rich history

It really is depressingly sad. I keep well informed but in the last 2 years it's remarkable how much my consumption has changed. There is very little that I would go to Stuff or even RNZ for now. It would be nice to think John Campbell joining morning report may herald a change. Sadly, I doubt that.

That's really not good. I think one of the problems is the variability of disrupt management. Can be great, can be terrible. That's not your problem. All I can really add is that with a hydraulic issue it's possible that they couldn't open the cargo doors as they are hydraulically actuated.
