most difficult problem of writing fanfiction is when you need a character to express the particular surprised/dismayed/disappointed sentiment of going "jesus christ" but this isn't a lore friendly thing to say and there's nothing lore friendly that conveys quite the same emotion

I love making kalamos completely miserable. He literally doesn't deserve anything I do to him in the ascian realm of things but ! Well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kalamos is so funny i got the name of a figure who was so joyous in love as to just decide to death is better than to live without karpos by his side and then developed my guy as an ascian first.

Amount of thought put into choosing kalamos' name (long list of symbolism and associations in gen and for my purposes) vs amount of thought put into ful's name (food pun that sounds like fool haha he's beans he's a hearty breakfast)

Leuke is Kal's pseudonym they sometimes go by which was my second choice I really liked. Had water and death associations too, but I was iffy bc of Hades connections since that wasn't my read on ful's ancient. It stuck around specifically for Herakles connections though who /is/ Kal's lover yaay

Kalamos! I specifically wanted a figure that underwent a plant metamorphosis (with a medicinal use!) The reeds being a sigh of lamentation was what got me and it worked well for death/grief association and suicide for love. River/drowning was a bonus for ful connection
