I ask myself all the time how she can’t see the truth when I’ve explained it to her. The answer is that she’s just inherently selfish and not hugely academic (this is not a judgement, not saying all non-academic people are right wing, but I think her lack of media literacy has made her more at risk)

But I am queer. Many of my friends are queer and trans. I am also disabled. Many of my friends are disabled. I don’t have too many friends who are migrants but I do have basic fucking empathy.

someone in my family was sharing horrendous right wing things on their social media. I spoke to them about it because it called queer people and migrants “pedophiles and groomers”.

now I’m technically a migrant (so is the person) but we are white. They are talking about black and brown migrants.
