Halbrunder Bohrkern der Korallenart Diploastrea heliopora. An der abgesägten Spitze ist das braun-gefärbte Gewebe sichtbar. An der Schnittstelle in den darunter liegenden weißen Kalkschichten treten die einzelnen Polypen der Koralle hervor.

Our new work in Environmental Microbiology on Symbiodiniaceae diversity between reef habitats and across the coral holobiont. Sediment, seawater, and turf algae-associated communities were distinct while the coral mucus and tissue showed nearly identical ITS2 type profiles.
