I also write short stories for fun, and I found that writing in a first-person POV with a fem protag makes me feel better than usual. Same with video games. I guess it helped with working through my feelings. Another help was Undertale and Steven Universe. Infinity Train to an extent, too.

Started with Skyrim, making female characters on the XBox 360 out of curiosity. Went to Destiny, then to PC Skyrim, and uh… I began to realize with the help of online friends. Found out that I felt more comfortable being called Naomi online and with fem-leaning pronouns, and, well… here I am.
