You may not wanna talk to me today. I'm in a mood. Just FYI.

I wrote so many nuanced words yesterday. And I pointed to the many nuanced words I've write before that. More than any reasonable person ever expects from a platform like this. And you still fixed your fucked up mouth to say you don't see me engaging with the concerns. Fuck you.

13.02.2026 02:05 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I don't give a fuck how "fake" I sound to some rando who can't even be bothered to read what I wrote before they jump in making shitty accusations. Or even ask an actual question about what I actually think before making dumb ass assumptions about who I am and what I've contributed. JFC.

I do actually spend that much time. I have spent a tremendous amount of time on it. Do you know how fucking obnoxious it is for you to come and try to moralize at me about it when you didn't even bother to fucking check? Get the fuck outta here man.

I ended up writing another screed about ai last night after hours. I feel like it's worth bumping up today as well. In short, I understand that Sam Altman is the devil. No one should trust anything he says or builds.

12.02.2026 18:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 14    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

For the record, I absolutely believe that the way these things were created by stealing the world's data MUST be addressed. If it's not, and there is no reasonable alternative that emerges. It will be a dealbreaker for me.

12.02.2026 18:08 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yes it's totally understandable. I'm actually trying hard to convey that I understand that and I am trying to navigate it. I'm not shirking the responsibility to make sure I actually believe this to be within my ethical comfort zone.

12.02.2026 18:07 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I know this was an acrimonious exchange. But I did want to say that I do actually feel responsible for answering your question to my own satisfaction. I've written a lot about my journey and I'll continue to do so. I understand why you're pissed. I just disagree that it should be directed at me.

12.02.2026 17:38 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I'm not interested in answering you're "curiosity" while you berate me. That's my point.

12.02.2026 17:08 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Cool. Like I said. We understand each other just fine. You may want to stop pretending you're just here to talk. Take care.

12.02.2026 17:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yes. You're making a case that I somehow owe you the answer that you're demanding in the way you're demanding it. I'm saying no I don't. If actually want to engage with me and are actually interested in getting an answer, you may want to try not being a dick.

12.02.2026 17:00 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I wrote a whole fucking thread and used so many words. But you get to crash into me and ask me for more because I didn't satisfy you? Fuck outta here.

12.02.2026 16:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I didn't steal shit from you. I'm a user. Just like you. That's why I asked you how you reconcile *using* other unethical tech. And you dismissed that. So no, you're not approaching this in good faith. You're being antagonistic. I get it. But I'm saying no thanks.

12.02.2026 16:48 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

That's a leading question that you have no intention of accepting a real answer to. (See I can be condescending and dismissive too)

Listen. Let's not do this. You don't agree with me. You don't like the machine. I hear you. You're allowed to feel however you wanna feel about it. Take care.

12.02.2026 16:29 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Have to say I'm not terribly surprised.

Modern conveniences meant housewives didn't have to work quite so hard any more. Did they work less? No, they joined the workforce.

Emails and computing made paperwork much faster. Could administrators work less? No! But now everything was happening faster!

So now we're here. AI is the new way for them to capitalize on all of the investments they've made in infrastructure. They are selling picks and shovels for the gold rush. So they have to create the gold rush. That's literally always what they're doing.

They immediately started funding him so he could crank things up. This also happens all the time. They thought the same thing about cryptocurrency. They put all their weight behind it. Telling us it was magic and would solve all of our problems. Remember that? But that ended up being a dead end.

12.02.2026 08:41 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 18    ๐Ÿ” 3    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

But here's the thing. Pretty soon, Altman talked to his VC friends and showed them what he had cooked up. And they helped him realize that this was their holy grail. They could all use this to make infinite money. Because that's always what they're doing. That's the game they play.

12.02.2026 08:39 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 21    ๐Ÿ” 9    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

But ChatGPT had a bigger impact than they anticipated. And Altman quickly pivoted to capitalize on that. This is all business. There's no magic here. These choices were made deliberately by humans. That's all I keep saying.

12.02.2026 08:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 31    ๐Ÿ” 3    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The impression I got was that it was largely seen as a fun experiment. A toy for people to play with to get them interested. That happens all the time when you're trying to find a way to kickstart your startup growth.

12.02.2026 08:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 18    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I'm not sure I'll be able able to find this source. But shortly after that, I remember reading some stuff from Sam Altman. He talked about how they spent a lot of time tinkering with different ways of presenting the tech. Because he knew that explaining what it does is actually quite difficult.

12.02.2026 08:21 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 13    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

At the time, I couldn't really anticipate what that might look like. And honestly I had completely forgotten about that encounter when ChatGPT dropped. The underlying tech was there before. ChatGPT was a deliberate product created to make people care about it.

12.02.2026 08:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 17    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

This person was not good at explaining what they were actually doing. But he did confirm that it has nothing to do with anything that resembles actual artificial intelligence. What he did say was "people are not ready for what we're about to release. It's wild."

12.02.2026 08:16 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 15    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

I found myself at dinner with a dude who worked at OpenAI before ChatGPT was released. I have to be careful how I talk about it. I don't wanna burn anybody. People can actually get into a lot of trouble for talking about their company's confidential stuff. But informally, we do it all the time.

12.02.2026 08:14 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 16    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's hard to convey what it's like being on the inside of these things. I always forget that it probably looks way different from the outside. I'm speaking from a place of having a little more actual knowledge about how this came to be.

12.02.2026 08:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 19    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The stuff coming out of OpenAI is very likely to be the worst and most harmful version of this tech. That's even with Elon Musk working hard to take the top spot. These big players have a lot of influence. But they don't wholly own and control the tech. They're pretty upset about that actually.

12.02.2026 08:08 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 41    ๐Ÿ” 7    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Sam Altman is one of the people I was talking about who is actively participating in devaluing labor. He is an active collaborator with the billionaires who want to use this tech to commodify all human activity to enrich themselves. No this is not hyperbole. I mean it quite literally.

Somebody linked to this and I think it's cool. This may feel like splitting hairs to some. But when I talk LLM tech, it is not synonymous with OpenAI. I agree that they are bad and the product they are selling cannot be trusted.

To be clear, this topic is worth being upset about. I'm still very upset about many aspects of this. But it's always tough when you want to move past the righteous anger and examine things more thoughtfully. Righteous anger feels great. People often want to stay there. They're allowed to do that.

12.02.2026 07:40 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 51    ๐Ÿ” 4    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

I feel fine about the discussions I'm having actually. If you're saying that talking about a charged topic (and rightfully so) will always bring people who wanna yell at you, then yeah. But there's nothing special about AI. That's just the internet.
