In #CRM, we evaluate a space/place with seven aspects of integrity: location, design, setting, materials, workmanship, feeling, association. I’m wondering if these same aspects could also be applied to archaeological data (sets, repositories, databases, etc.). #archaeology 🏺

Spending the night in Fargo tonight. Tomorrow, I collect my gear from my old Bismarck office. This really hurts.

Today I submitted a resume online, had it judged positively by AI, put forward to a one-way video interview that crashed, and then recorded two 1-minute responses that were then sent into oblivion. This was the most dehumanizing (literally) HR process I’ve yet to endure. It’s for a f2f teaching gig.

I’ll take the money ofc for road food as I drive to Bismarck to collect my field gear, but talk about tone-deaf….

I’ve been unemployed for 8 minutes.

One position I interviewed for passed, but the other interview I had was good enough to warrant a second one for Friday. Fingers crossed.

This is a layoff (reduction-in-force) because of paused or canceled contracts thanks in no small part to Orange Julius’ budget cuts and energy market uncertainty. I’m beyond pissed.

It’s official. My last day of employment is August 2 (Saturday). I am still looking for anything, but my skills are in #archaeology (🏺), #gaming and #games, #publishing (#academia), adventure tourism and science expeditions (safety and logistics), and I’d be a fucking great professor.

Thank you very kindly. I never could find an academic post; academic publishing is a charlie foxtrot; games companies are reducing staff at alarming rates, and commercial archaeology is reeling from funding and contract cuts. I am open to anything these days just to keep my house and insurance!
