No, it was an existing type in the project. That line of code hadn't changed since the last build but it was flagged as an error when other code was introduced

Shows the bottom of the VS 2026 editor, displaying 1 (red) error in the code, but a successful build in the output window below.
When it is like this, I can build ok, but the editor still thinks it has errors.

A code extract showing a Razor Component @inject directive where the type is showing a red squiggle indicating a problem, which is described as Type or namespace could not be found. Underneath is showing the result of "peek definition" where it clearly finds and displays the type definition
Trying out the new razor cohost experience, and hit this - where the tooling says it can't find a Type, but it is lit up in the correct colour, and can use peek to see the code. I can repro this in any razor file by mistyping a Type name - the error appears, only a restart of VS 2026 will resolve it
