I mean the status quo sucks in traffic but I dont subscribe to the notion that incremental change at all inhibits revolutionary progress.

Also improving the status quo doesn't suck in tumor ID and med diagnoses, agriculture and livestock optimization, rural fire prevention and alerts, etc etc.

Of course, if you ask it to optimize for traffic patterns, it's not going to tell you to create a subway system.

We cannot remove ourselves from the equation. We must still be guided by our own imagination.

But using a tool like AI in implementing large systems is a boon, not a curse.

I can't refute the commentary on our American attitudes.

But I would say that in many problem spaces, AI is our thoughtful human solution. Mostly in areas where we have existing, imperfect solutions, like traffic, it allows for superior pattern recognition and optimization of the status quo.
