Hounds aren’t really like other dogs. They don’t play the same way. He’d probably be happier playing with a whippet than a sheepdog.

Sometimes people make mistakes. Someone put £250 into my daughter’s child trust fund a few years ago. We asked the bank to give it back as we were sure it was a mistake but they said they hadn’t retained the details and therefore couldn’t.

Absolutely. Lots of old people make friends with my dog (v sociable) and get into conversation with me and my teenaged daughter that way. I always tell my daughter that that will be me in a few years.

My mum died 11 years ago. I still get moments. Mostly when the kids do something that she’d have been super proud of.

I think “don’t believe Trump” is a good rule of thumb.

I found that I couldn’t predict what would make me emotional when my mum died. I would say it was a year before I was fully on an even keel.
