I miss/long for Slacker-era Austin. I don't know if you're old enough to have experienced it, but Austin was SO different before the infiltration of super-rich tech bros. It wasn't cool to shame people for being poor. Even "respectable" Austin was kinda shabby. It's evolving in the wrong direction.

Well, in her defense, she's likely genuinely stupid.

I think that's obvious. But one does not necessitate the other. Until now, we've benefitted from an independent DOJ, which means the government has demonstrated it CAN pursue justice without partisan bias. And Americans are growing weary of Trump's constant hypocritical howling about partisan bias.

There must be justice for us to be able to proceed. "Retribution" is Trump's framing, and I refuse to accept it. Justice is NOT the same thing. We need to restore a rules-based world (sorry, John Roberts) that holds "no man is above the law" as its code. Otherwise, what are we even doing?
