They're not entirely separate. There is a lot of overlap between those letters, especially the T, despite some people's efforts to keep them driven apart.
I myself am or have been at one time or another pretty much every letter in the acronym, and I know a lot of people in the same boat.

This morning was supposed to be the last time I had to see this fucking masculine ass face. I'm feeling so fucking dysphoric right now every time I see my reflection it hurts. I'm literally having to hold my phone funny so I don't see it.

This whole system is rotten. I don't just mean healthcare, I mean everything.
We need to find a way to reboot this crashing disaster.

This screws everyone but some bean counters pushing paperwork who never have to see the human cost of what damage they do.
Everyone loses out from this, me, the surgeon, the hospital, everyone.

It most likely isn't intentional and just insurance corporations being faceless monstrosities, but whatever it is it has literally fucked my life up for years over this one surgery.

I'm so furious.
I've felt for months that someone involved in the approvals process at my insurance company is specifically targeting me with some form of transphobia using the system as a cover to be as inhumane and cruel as possible. It feels intentional.

Now I have no idea when I'm going to get this surgery I'm so desperate for.
Everything is in limbo.

Yesterday I received a letter approving that sent on 6/20.
After this long fighting for this, after months of approvals turning back into denials, attempts to ignore IMRs forcing them to approve my repeatedly noted 'medically necessary' surgery, after everything, it was finally time.

Two hours before the cancellation, I got a call from the hospital doing my pre check in.
EVERYONE thought this was a go.
Based on the VERY limited info I have, it had something to do with my inpatient recovery stay which should have been tonight.

The insurance canceled with the hospital, which then had to tell my surgeon, who then had to tell me.
No one has answers yet because they didn't tell anyone until anyone who could fix things had gone home.

I fought my insurance for 2 ½ years for this. I've spent months in an on and off again state of approval only for them to pull the plug at the last minute over some minor paperwork snafu THEY caused.
They waited until EOD yesterday to do so.

My mom flew across the country to come take care of me in recovery. She is currently in the hotel room I was supposed to spend the next 2 weeks recovering in.
I rearranged my life for this.

I'm supposed to be under anesthesia right now on an operating room table.
Instead I'm laying in bed at home feeling lots of things.
12 hours before my surgery I got a call from my surgeon's office saying my insurance screwed something up and last minute canceled with the hospital.
