The real effort we have to start making is connecting with our local communities and supporting activism that makes a difference where we are. Apathy is not enough: there is no compassion (or justice) without action.

There was no mandate, and it's imperative that those of us interested in fairness, equity, and inclusion resist the incoming administration without tiring.

The first and best thing you can do? Resist with your dollars. Stop spending on anything not essential to life.

Trump is now under 50% in the national vote (and will continue trending downward a little more), for anyone keeping count of his 'mandate.'

Stop spending money. Buy absolutely nothing unless it's vital for survival. Make this Christmas a small one. /1

"Showing up to vote" has never been enough to move government policy. We have to get engaged locally and communicate nationally.

In a world where the plan is to "purge the generals" so there's no military resistance to use of force against civilians, we have to adjust our thinking.

A whole lot of people woke up to a scary America. A modern world requires fighting back in new ways, especially against an open despot.
