I remember once suggesting Coromon. Got a response like "Sorry but I want a REAL Pokemon game." Genuinely makes me think people are afraid of alternatives that actually do what they want.

Even now, I'll see peeps saying 'I miss...' and then a game name, and it's something that's emu'd they could be playing in minutes. I'll point out it's easy to play it at the drop of a hat, they'll probably nod sagely, and then go back to saying they miss it.

I see quite a few young peeps playing emulator games and tinkering with old hardware? Lot of vtubers on my feed posting about playing x, y, and z old game and they're not NSO ones.

The biggest disdain in the last six years I've seen was from the older, real hardware and then MISTer only crowd.

Hey so how about instead of paying 20$ for kinda lackluster GBA games. You can pay that or even less for stellar indie games that will fill the same Niche and tickle the same funny bones instead?
