I think most of us are half-assed, lol. No aid stations though; my partner is meeting me at 3 points on the trail so he'll have whatever I want (and time to get whatever I'm craving!) I'm also hoping for good weather!!

So with 10 days left to the attempt (not a race, just a 52 mile long run)...would you recommend:

- pack in a few 10 milers until Tuesday then mini-taper
- do one more long run(4-5 hours) on Friday & full week taper
-push it out two weeks to get 2 more solid 4 hour runs

Would love some opinions!

#runsky #runningcoach question! Had to scrap my 100k bc of life conflicts with my kids. Instead, I'm running the Batona, a 52 mile point to point trail in South Jersey on 3/14 (the weekend of the 100k) BUT I missed two peak training long runs (one was icy & the other I fell & banged up my knee).

This past Saturday long run was supposed to be 4-5 hours…and now I still have dirt caked in my knee. Walked the last bit just to hit 10 miles.

Other than eating ish, it was, physically, a great run, on a gorgeous day before another cold snap.

Unpopular opinion but I kinda look forward to the mill at times! Training mental toughness IS important but its also a nice break from traffic dodging, route planning, tripping & falling in the woods, safety concerns...plus controlled/measurable efforts for strides, etc. It has helped me a ton!

Process goals > race goals lately & really loving just training.

Hoping once I get to the start line (you know, at the back of the pack, not like, the ACTUAL start line, lol) it will just be a "yasss, I made it" moment & the race is an eval of everything that went into it.

Running @ sunset to practice w/ my Ultraspire waistlight for the Rabid Raccoon 100k. Last (& only) two times I've used it, it automatically dims after an hour. I click it off & on to get the brightness back but it only lasts for a few minutes. Anyone else have this issue?
