I feel overwhelmed with gratitude to a local physician who bought my book in bulk so that she could plant copies in Little Free Libraries around our city to reach the public with its messaging in a grassroots way.

She made a collage of her efforts and delivered it to me today. πŸ™

I don’t know how you have the time for all the careers these people say you have. A bartender, too? You need to take breaks Jonathan.

This is anecdotal, but measles never prevented me, or my brothers, from having cancer. Just saying . . .

I work in a cancer center and I would say about 2% are taking ivermectin either as their sole treatment or in conjunction with recommended treatment, but last week was the first time I had a patient tell me that cancer was a parasite. I could see this as a metaphor but he meant πŸͺ±.

How not to science: Lessons from flat earthers and climate change deniers Science is an amazingly powerful tool for disentangling fact and fiction. When done correctly, it is a systematic, objective, unbiased, and self-correcting method for understanding our universe. Un…

Always ask yourself:

β€œWhat evidence would convince me that I’m wrong?”

If the answer is, β€œnothing,” then you are not adhering to the rules of science or logic.

Apropos of nothing:

People with narcissistic personality traits are very sensitive to β€˜injury’ from defeat.

They may feel humiliated, degraded, hollow, and empty.

They may react with disdain, rage, or defiant counterattack.

Infant chiropractic care is among the griftiest of pseudoscientific treatments.

It is scientifically indefensible and potentially harmful.

Adrenal fatigue: A fake disease (updated) β€œAdrenal fatigue” is not a real medical condition, but some claim it is real and that medicine is ignoring it. What does the science say?

β€œAdrenal fatigue” was invented by the wellness industry.

It’s a fake diagnosis.

It’s pseudoscience.

If you’ve been given a diagnosis of β€œadrenal fatigue,” your symptoms are real, but that diagnosis is not.

The use of patient testimonials for marketing on health websites is a major pseudoscientific red flag and is unethical.

And for good reason:

On measles and vaccines, Canada can’t keep ignoring the elephant in the room Study after study has shown that political affiliation is one of the single strongest predictors of vaccination status.

Almost half of all Americans are hesitant to vaccinate their dogs.

Their primary concern?

Dog autism.

Mistrust and conspiracy mentality have always been cornerstones of the anti-vaccine movement.

It is a movement driven by ideology, not evidence.

And it is a movement predicated on science illiteracy and dependent on pseudoscience to advance its 200+ year-old harmful narrative.

I have the greatest respect for @jonathanstea.bsky.social for he is not only an active clinician but also a researcher and a scholar.
My focus is on those he calls out for denying the existence of MI - a stance based on ideology, not reality, and one which most of us can’t afford to indulge in.
