This is not the oldest book I own, but it was my first with a personalized autograph. I was three when it was published (yes I realize I’m aging myself if anyone cares enough, and yes I met her, although I don’t remember it). I came by my love early and honestly. 🤟🏻🌈📚

More of a typical month, except that 80% were audio. It was a busy one, so a lot of my reading was on the go. All but one of my September books were #sapphfic reads. Now I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the manuscript for a new Xmas romance I’ll be proofreading this month! 🌈📚

I’m in a group for a local book club and there was a recent post asking for our favorite authors, so of course I had to throw in a few of my favorite #sapphfic writers. They pulled some of those authors for a bracket, and I’m happy to report that @leewinteroz.bsky.social eked out a win over SJM. 🤭🌈📚

I…think that’s an understatement. This whole week, month even, has been stressful, but today was the worst. I’m going to go lose myself in some books and not think about life and death or the weight of the world and the way of things.

Is it out? Yes! Did I abandon the book I was listening to so I could start it? Also yes! Do I regret it? Not a whit. Three chapters in and I already know I’m going to love it as much as the rest of the series. @rebeccathorne.bsky.social is awesome, and Jessica Threet’s narration is fab. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 30: Coming Home by @propertyofkj.bsky.social. Melbourne girl-next-door meets celebrity single mom when she’s hired to teach the actress’s daughter. They slowly fall for each other, and I fell for them. I laughed, I cried, I had all the feels. I’ve heard the audiobook is great, too. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 29: Hotel Queens by @leewinteroz.bsky.social. I love all of Lee’s books, and one of the things she’s known for is ice queens. This is one of her best, and damn her ice queen and firebrand are fabulously steamy, with wonderful chemistry, competition, and a bit of mystery. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 28: Honey in the Marrow by @emilyraywaters.bsky.social. Stella, 51 and former deputy DA, recently lost her husband. She comes into her own with the help of her niece Stella, and unexpected support from Elizabeth, a detective she used to work with. One of my favorite reads last year. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 27: Consecrated Ground by @virginiablack.bsky.social. In a world teeming with vampires, war witch Joan returns home following her father’s death. Flawless writing, and beautiful transitions between slow, sensual moments and heart pounding action. The sequel Incendiant just released! #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 26: I Keep My Exoskeletons to Myself by @mcrane12.bsky.social. Yes they’ve got a brand new book out, which is excellent, but there’s something about this one that lives in my brain. It’s a dystopian story about survival against Big Brother, but it’s also a deep examination of grief. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 25: This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. An epistolary sci-fi about Red and Blue, agents for opposing factions in the time war. They travel through time, altering history while leaving letters for each other, at first taunting but becoming much more #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 24: Might As Well Be An Ocean by Kellan McKnight. A single POV, dual timeline, spicy, friends to lovers, fake dating romance with neurodiversity rep and a focus on how it affects everyday life, especially undiagnosed. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me feel all the feels. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 23: The Three Lives of Cate Kay by Kate Fagan. One of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to, it’s an intricately woven and complex story full of mystery, romance, grief, loss, and ultimately love. A memoir-style retelling from multiple POVs that had me hooked from start to finish. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 22: Conflict of Interest by @jaeauthor.bsky.social. Fair warning that this one deals heavily with SA, so if that’s a trigger this isn’t the Jae book for you. It’s a romance within a crime investigation, and a tough subject, but Jae handles it respectfully and tenderly. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 21: Paint the Moon by Katia Rose. First in a new series, it’s a slow burn about coming home and realizing your worth. I especially love Katia’s series novels because so much time is devoted to developing the setting and side characters, which adds a lot of depth to the stories. #sapphfic 🌈📚
