For more than a decade, Andrew Cuomo pretended he had nothing to do with deteriorating subways and endless delays β€” even as he siphoned off funding from the MTA he controlled.

Sky News Smears Greta Thunberg As A Nazi To Justify IDF Attack Listen to a reading of this article (reading by Tim Foley):

Sky News Smears Greta Thunberg As A Nazi To Justify IDF Attack

Shortly before the IDF raided the Madleen, Sky News host Jonathan Samuels strongly implied that the ship deserved to be attacked because it is full of antisemites and Hamas supporters.

New study reveals wealth inequality was never inevitable A recent study published in the journal PNAS is overturning traditional wisdom regarding the origins and inevitability of wealth inequality

A massive study of 50,000 households over 1,000 archaeological sites provides ample evidence that inequality is not a "natural" outgrowth of sophistication. Instead, it is a political choice. Which means, kids, that we don't have to choose it.

Happening now: a crowd of protesters is growing outside the FBI's Milwaukee Division office in St. Francis, Wisconsin.

People are demanding charges be dropped against county circuit judge Hannah Dugan, who was arrested Friday. She's accused of helping a man evade immigration agents.

Only Kevin Roose's Editors Despise Him More Than I Do | Defector Grave editorial failure only seldom can be located in something as precise as a single word choice. The following block-quoted sentence, from a Thursday article by New York Times technology reporter K...

β€œParents, never let your children run with scissors. Pet owners, never let your dog roam off-leash near a busy eight-lane superhighway. Editors, never let Kevin Roose use the word β€˜intelligent’ unsupervised, ever again. If not for his sake then for mine.”

1) Fox News is for real not showing stock-market ticker during this week's collapse.

2) Its economic news is "strong jobs report."

3) Every time I've checked in today, the coverage has been "illegal immigrants committing new crimes."

This is state propaganda, on a par with North Korea or PRC.

In 1968 Finland banned for profit education, the few private schools that exist in Finland have to reinvest any profit they make or pay it back to parents.

It has been in the Top 3 in education for the last 20 years.

There should be no profit in education or healthcare.

Agreed. The answer to the purity test problem is coalition building. The answer to undemocratic party politics is for the old guard to retire, and let a new generation of leadership ascend within the party.

The word β€œterrorist” is a meaningless tool of imperial narrative control.
Want to bomb some people? Designate them as terrorists.
Want to silence protesters and dissidents? Say they’re supporting terrorists.
Want sweeping surveillance powers? Say you need them to fight terrorism.

Daylight kidnappings by masked thugs. Universities turning students over to secret police for speaking against genocide.

The only thing we know for sure about what comes next, is that the Dems are not gonna save us.

Insanity is repeating the same actions expecting a new outcome.

Build. Power. Now

Vote me Governor of California, and I swear to God that unlike the sniveling, cowardly, complicit Dems, I WILL NOT comply with any unconstitutional order.

The Feds will have to go through the full force of the state’s legal apparatus to touch a single hair on the head of a California resident.

Malcolm X said it: β€˜We are not outnumbered, we are out organized.’

Protests have become a pressure release valve in the system now.

Mobilizations are momentary. Organization is permanent.

They feared encampments because that was sustained organized OCCUPATION, direct action & community building.

Frustrated that so many people are continuing to rely on eroding rules that the people in charge of administering those rules aren’t even following. If the law could save us, it would have prevented us from getting here in the 1st place. What’s next?

Closing rural post offices will do the same thing that closing rural schools has done: Empty out rural towns.

Why? To sell off farmland for rock bottom prices to the oligarchs. Water and mineral rights and CAFOs polluting with impunity.

It’s been the plan for decades.

People are gonna be mad, but when I see how quickly thousands can MOBILIZE for a march to free Rumeysa or Mahmoud I am frustrated.

If we ORGANIZED a strike, took direct action to protect against ICE, or elected a third party, they wouldn’t disappear in the first place.

Organization > mobilization

I want us to study the history of resistance to slave catchers right now. I want us to study how slave catchers worked, how they were sanctioned, who paid them, and why they did what they did, right now. I want us to study the hyperlocal and networked ways slave catchers were impeded. Right now.

People need to be making a connection. Why is ICE abducting people to Louisiana & the deep south? Because these places are serious about incarceration. They have serious mass incarceration & are serious about torture. And it comes from the plantation legacy of the region. @prisonculture.bsky.social

ICE arrests WA farmworker activist in Sedro-Woolley Alfredo "Lelo" Juarez, 25, has organized on behalf of farmworkers' rights in Washington state since he was 14 years old.

We are heartbroken and outraged to learn that Alfredo "Lelo" Juarez was violently detained by ICE while dropping his partner off at work. He is reportedly being held at a private detention facility in Tacoma, Washington. 🧡
