Switch 2 is going to be the first console I actually get at launch. The excitement has been a bit muted for a while, but it's now hitting me full force that — after years of following all the speculation and leaks — this thing is going to be in my hands in less than two days.

I'm not super happy about the current state of the channel that made me fall in love with the medium of animation, and having kids shows premiere new episodes at midnight is absurd, but I do see it as Ouweleen's way of keeping animation alive at Warner Bros. Discovery as best as he can.

1) Keep this programming firmly with the WBD ecosystem by moving them to [as], banking on the idea that these shows would've developed a strong periphery viewership of young adults anyway.

2) Sell them to other streaming services or distributors ala Batman: CC.

3) Let boss man Zaslav kill 'em.

A lot could definitely be said about *when* these shows air. When [as] starts as early as it does, having these positioned as transitional shows in primetime with encores at midnight is something they should do.

But on the whole, I think that there were only really two (well, three options) here.

I feel like the reasons are kinda obvious. Kids aren't really watching TV as much as they used to and Zaslav is just plain uninterested in children's programming, so he probably isn't going to sign off on any huge initiative that would help revive the CN side of things.

(...Just realized what they were going for — or accidentally stumbled upon — with the show's acronym. ASH. Because its a post-apocalypse where much of civilization outside a few strongholds have done to dust. Clever.)
