Upper section of an old and very weathered gate. It is made from vertical wooden slats bolted onto horizontal slats. The vertical slats are positioned so that they make a pleasing curve at the top. There is a curved wooden sign attached part way down which says DA BRIGS. Beyond the gate is a narrow stony causeway over some water leading to a rough grassy area. A glimpse of grey sky beyond.

Komorebi (scattered light through trees) 🤩

A very familiar spot - from childhood day trips to teenage bicycle tours, and many visits as adults. OH’s cousin ran the High Force Hotel for a while. 🙂

A chaotic hedgerow with long rough grass in front. It is full of creamy white pink-tinged honeysuckle flowers. The sky is a jumble of pale pinkish grey clouds.

Smell the honeysuckle and you will be transported (temporarily!) to paradise ☺️ #wildflowers

I haven’t seen any forked lightning - just loads of flashes through the clouds.

Worst storm we’ve had in ages. Continuous lightning and rumbles with mighty cracks and bangs. Scarily exciting. I don’t think I’ll sleep until this has gone through 😬

Very annoying when you buy something on ‘click and collect’ only to go to the store and realise you didn’t read the bit that says it has to be delivered to said store first and you can collect it next week. Extra annoying when you live several miles out of town #ConsumeristWoes
