We can’t say for absolute certain that an uncontrolled dog has caused this injury, but sadly, given our vast experience, it is the most likely explanation. It’s a timely reminder to ensure pets are always kept under control around wildlife, to prevent these kind of injuries.

Last night we rescued a swan from Goole Marina, reported as bloodied and unable to stand. Upon rescue and closer observation, several deep bite puncture wounds were located on the bird’s thigh, with infection already present.
