I used to do a random land features multiple choice trivia question to start my S4 geography class. Once, I chose the Ob delta. Before I even displayed the choices, one of my pupils , originally from Bulgaria, nearly leapt out of his seat and shouted, "Miss, its the Ob!" Geography legend.

Given HMS Satisfaction was on its way to Jamaica, negligence doesn't begin to describe it...

I always try to remember to thank them. I was giving a bumblebee talk last week and digressed into wasps for a bit, to give them their just dues.

It's crazy!! I also have to register with the ICO - another £50. On top of PI etc etc etc. I am not against regulation per se but when nobody has sight of the big picture, it creates an impossible environment.

While I am having a rant- people want to lower the VAT threshold so I'll 'grow my business' which I can't grow because I am a finite resource and charging VAT would wipe out any profit (little scope for charging more). All of these things make me consider LOWERING my productivity 🙄

I think @martingillie.bsky.social noticed free options a few months ago - have they disappeared? - and discussed the risks of the free version. I mean one gets what one pays for, but if that's the only affordable option for a small business or sole trader....

This whole thing is appalling. It's a gravy train for the tax compliance industry that no one else asked for and appeared in no manifesto, and 'fixes' a problem that doesn't exist. I'm furious.
