(I spent a lot of time on my setting, this is very simplified)

The way i deal with magic in my games is a mix of both :3

There’s a science behind how magic works, and it can be calculated, measured and controlled

But there’s also a parallel type of magic based on the person using it, mostly linked to practice, their belief that it’ll work and/or from birth
