Making a lake pigment from natural sources - this time a red cabbage, my personal favorite for making a brilliant ultramarine blue. Using simple chemistry to precipitate a solid from a liquid solution makes me feel like I'm brewing a potion in a cauldron.

Creating new art is a wonderful escape from life stress.
Each pair of earrings are two halves of the same maple seed samaras (helicopter/twirlers). I love how resin magnifies the veins and details inside the samara. Nature makes the best art.

Water soluble color sticks (very similar to conte crayons) are incredibly versatile. My travel kit always includes a small rainbow set, and often replaces my watercolors as a quick tool for plein air art.
