A ยฃ20 flat fee for seeing a GP isn't cutting state spending - it is just a very regressive tax rise.

(Unless the plan is to cut funding to GPs and tell them this makes up for it, which feels unworkable, and like exactly the kind of "magical thinking" this report purports not be.)

Slashing pensioner benefits just as Generation X are starting to retire feels very on-brand for the 21st Century.

Gen X have been lucky in many ways, but we are totally hosed on pensions, having missed both the final salary bus, and compulsory/ employer contributions in the crucial early years.

In my familyโ€ฆ yes - we knew who was an uncle, who was a great aunt, and who was a second cousin twice removed!

(But I appreciate we were weird.)

This is really good; and why I'm very uncomfortable with the argument of some folks on here that "This will be great" with an implicit "for people like me".

The better it is for the digitally privileged, the greater the harms caused to those who are digitally marginalised.

We had a happy hour doing this last night whilst watching Bake Off (AKA The Great British Baking Show) - thank u!

(Didn't *quite* get it all right tho - thought 18 Across was "Perry", as in Katy!)

Definitely. It wasn't just the time we spent playing either - it was the time we spent talking, and discussing the themes - GTA was great for that - he learned so much about life from GTA, because we talked about those difficult themes from torture to drugs to gambling toโ€ฆ wellโ€ฆ everything.

Enjoy! My best memories of time with my son growing up are playing video games - mainly action-adventures (Uncharted etc.) which we played through alternating between playing and watching. (Wellโ€ฆ mostly alternating - there were occasions when tantrums were thrown, and he had to take over!!)

Paris is my favorite; but High Infidelity is a very close second.

I like Paris because it transcends categorisation - the first verse is very glitter-pen; the second is definitely fountain pen; but then the "drew a map on your bedroom ceiling" is kinda dreamy, romantic quill pen style.

"The integration of AI into financial services is not just about adopting new technology; it's about reimagining the entire banking experience."

This feels like a massive red flag - banking is *supposed* to be boring.

There are huge global outages in all sorts of things right now, due to problems at AWS, so it is probably that.

Shorn of title, status and dignity, itโ€™s the new Prince Andrew. A life he was born to replaced by a life he will hate | Stephen Bates Nothing will ever be the same for the disgraced royal or the other Windsors. He can still live in Royal Lodge, but itโ€™s a terrible blow to his sense of entitlement, says former Guardian royal correspo...

He'd hate life a whole lot more if he was in prison. Just sayin'.

"The Iron Lady was rated most highly by 29 per cent"

A Times article, with two bits highlighted: "Little wonder the under-40s laud Margaret Thatcher" "The Iron Lady was rated most highly by 29 per cent"

Feel like this is stretching the definition of "laud" to breaking-point and beyond.

Same here. Did the same with TTPD too - listened to nothing-but for about 4 months, before I put the shuffle back on. (My normal listening mode is Taylor Swift -> All Songs -> Shuffle.)

And the Tories "retail offer" to me since 2015 has been:

Apple Musicโ€™s Auto-Mix feature.

Apple Musicโ€™s Auto-Mix feature.

Apple Music Auto-Mix (which I accidentally turned on) is the perfect โ€œfeatureโ€ for our age - both technically impressive and deeply unsettling and annoying. (Yesโ€ฆ actually I *do* want to listen to the outro!)
