I'd respectfully disagree with the sheer fact that the Time to Kill (TTK) in Fortnite makes the game far more accessible than the cracked out kids in CoD.

The TTK actually reminds me of HALO 2 back in the day.

It was a bit thin on story, quests, and combat... but FK... these views. Can you imagine if Obsidian steps up to THIS level in Outer Worlds 2?

I've having a terrific time in this game

I've been enjoying the fk out of it, tbh. It's not setting the world on fire, and the writing could be a bit tighter, but the looseness actually encouraged me to explore and take my time.

It feels like Fantasy Outer Worlds. It's a B+ game laying a foundation for a better sequel.

#ttrpg idea: 80s action movie night.

Players start each session as 'themselves', imagining the table is a group of friends hanging out for a VHS 'movie night'.

We improv some trailers, then get into the game world.

Will probably use 'Everyday Heroes' or 'Never Stop Blowing Up' as the system.

CA Liberty "AJM". A heavy pistol with full auto capability. Can fire a burst of 10 and still have 4 rounds left in the magazine before reloading.

I might switch this to 'VERY heavy pistol' and require a BODY of 8 or more to full auto without penalty.

As a newly pro Cyberpunk GM, you'd be so surprised how easy it is.

A house rule I made for Cyberpunk was similar, and I know the hardcores would hate me for it. Instead of having to put ranks in EVERY martial art you want your char to know, AND still have to put points into Brawling, I said

"6 ranks of more in Brawling means you know a martial art. PICK ONE!"

All these factors considering that, by design, it's a world where the oppressors always win, and that individual victories are ones of philosophy... or survival...

My Favorite plot questions to note as a GM in a grimdark setting like Dark Sun/Band of Blades/Cyberpunk:
- What do you desire or value the most?
- If you don't have it yet, what are you willing to do to obtain it?
- If you have it, what lengths are you willing to go to keep it?
- If it's an ideal...

@larianstudios.bsky.social laughs at that notion, making games so diverse and memorable, they justify multiple playthroughs while other games bog you down with fluff.
