It can carry 400 passengers and 200 cars. It also has a cinema. What more do you need?

Summer timetables should be confirmed sometime this week.

Island Energy has released a statement that evacuations are a precaution while engineers undertake testing and repairs.

They state: "Our engineers are currently on-site and working to locate and repair the gas escape."

As far as I'm aware, leaked gas is not yet officially confirmed.

I'm wearing my 'nerd of the office' badge with pride as I waffle on about Warhammer and Witcher games. But hey, when the opportunity presents itself...

Has anyone caught a glimpse of the Man of Steel himself in Jersey?

Henry Cavill has taken a selfie outside The Little Shop in St Helier to celebrate the filming of a new Warhammer 40,000 Amazon series.

We gave a middling performance in the Channel Islands Holly Jolly Quiz for hacks and flacks - but still had great fun! Turns out sulphuric acid doesn't contain zinc...

I feel like I've definitely experienced this but can anyone think of any good examples?

There'll be more on ITV Channel's evening show at 6pm tonight and on Channel's website, but you can watch Fred Dimbleby's excellent breakdown from back in May below: www.itv.com/news/channel...

This, however, was rejected by 27 votes to 19 with no abstentions.

Jersey's assisted dying law is now being drafted by officials and will come back to the States Assembly for final approval towards the end of 2025.

Island politicians also debated another route which would have brought eligibility for those who have been "diagnosed with an incurable physical condition that is giving rise to unbearable suffering that cannot be alleviated in a manner the person deems tolerable".

Jersey's propositions go a little further than England and Wales, as eligibility includes those with less than six months to live, or 12 months if they have a neurodegenerative condition.

It was voted through by 32 votes to 14 with no abstentions.

In May 2024, politicians in Jersey voted to allow assisted dying for people with terminal illnesses, and it has been suggested that the UK's government may have used their plans as a sort of 'template' for their legislation.

UK politicians have voted in favour of allowing assisted dying in England and Wales.

However, they were not the first to vote through this kind of legislation in the British Isles (small 🧡).

The decision day looms as Brittany Ferries confirms they're once again in the race. Will it be fully steam ahead for a connected Jersey-Guernsey ferry service, or has that ship sailed?

All to be revealed by (hopefully) Friday.

And then the 'Following' page is totally clamped on a 'newest first' setting rather than relevance, making it a nightmare to meaningfully engage in content that's appropriate to us. Sigh.

Another factor that's making it harder to engage with people on X.

Yes, other platforms do the same, but I would say engagement on quality content has become far lower on 'formerly twitter'.
