One thing many AI-apologists often overlook is that genAI isn't a mind reader; it can be very difficult to tell it what you want. Also, it's often a lot more troublesome to try and track down what part of code someone/something else wrote is messing things up than with something you wrote yourself.

It's also good to consider what you're reading and who by. OpenAI, whose existence relies solely on people's -- especially investors' -- continued faith in genAI, has a VERY strong incentive to make it seem like they're not in trouble when it comes to further model training.

Everything points to the tech being at a stage, where further advancements are becoming increasingly expensive to achieve computationally (meaning increased monetary cost as well). The industry is already bleeding hundreds of billions a year and it's only gonna get worse. Hence the talk of a bubble.

Yeah, the FIRST five years saw crazy improvements. Think of it like body building. Initially, you'll see big gains, but as you progress, gains get smaller and you gotta work extra hard for even that small improvement. It's kind of like that with training AI. Food and whey protein has also run out.

If anything, Trump's second term has been a very clear signal that maybe the presidency shouldn't offer quite as much unchecked power as the position currently does.
