The declaration that the military should use US cities as training grounds is a brazen thing to say on its own, but especially so when we're in a government shutdown fight. There are already massive credibility issues with the WH cutting lawfully appropriated funds and this only raises the stakes.

It’s horrifying that Charlie Kirk was shot. It’s also horrifying that someone targeted him in an area so densely packed with kids. Whoever did this and regardless of their reason, they’re not a hero, and it sure doesn’t seem like they cared who they hurt in the process.

Having been ambushed by students who thought they'd bully me into getting a better grade by complaining about my testing procedures to my dept chair, it sucks to see bosses folding so easily at a stiff breeze. I was fortunate to have a chair and dean who saw those complaints for what they were.
