There should be a popup menu appearing at the bottom of the emulator that includes options like save states and changing the control settings.

Comparing the ZX Spectrum and SAM Coupe versions of Lemmings and Treasure Island Dizzy

focused too much on the ZX Spectrum emulation in the early years (we've now got emulators for many systems on the SAM Coupe!) neglecting the machine's true capabilities. I'll add my usual comparison photo to this post comparing ZX to SAM games!

Interesting to see the (presumably Oli Frey drawn?) sketch of the titular egg Crash used to illustrate their review of the first Dizzy game in 1987.

Magicland Dizzy

I had (and still do) a soft (-boiled) spot for the #C64 Dizzy games. Not the crappy arcade spin offs like KS, FF and DDtR, but the proper Dizzy games. This one follows FWD and continues with the Yolkfolk theme with many puzzles and inventory management involved. Oeuf.

Ok are you ready for my white hot opinion? Coz here it is, in caps, for emphasis.

EGGS ARE UNDERRATED.

It's my assertion that eggs are a steak level food, that we don't fetishise as much as steaks as they're cheap.

You'd pay £10 for a single egg if that's what they cost. And love them.

Plenty going on in this loading screen from Crystal Kingdom Dizzy on the C64, but not much of it good. Pirate ship on the horizon, a river heading inland to a forest, Dizzy swingin on a vine like Pitfall Harry, an alligator, snake, trees flowers, a parrot riding a cannonball fired from the galleon. Dizzy wearing a wrong-coloured Indiana Jones hat. Plenty! It's actually all right...

Commodore Format in its more modern and less appealing form(at), gave it mid-70s. £10 for a Dizzy game doesn't sit right with me. Nor does having TWO Code Masters logos on the loading screen!

I am excited for this. Day one for me.
