This time the weird decision is them counting NSMBU and NSMBU Deluxe as separate titles (and Bowser's Fury as its own game). But at least Mario Maker 3DS is gone and the the Mario Land games are counted as they sometimes haven't been. But also RIP Yoshi's Island and Wario Land as main series titles.

In some episodes I have introduced game by saying it is the "x entry in main series" but also spoken about the various discrepancies because Nintendo loves to change what they count and what they don't.

A new 40th anniversary booklet has been revealed with a whole new list so here we go.

I own this book as part of my pretty robust collection of strange Mario books. I'd love to do an episode just focussing on all of them.

The Super Mario 64 source code lists names for Mario's footstep sounds. The list starts off normal but becomes poetic with names like "Footsteps in the Fallen Leaves" and "More Than Anyone Else in the World". It turns out the names are actually taken from a 1994 dating simulator.

I'm sorry the 40th anniversary of the Golden Girls is the day after the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros? What a week that would've been!
