I have very few clothes that I've had for less than 18 months, and the ones I do are ones I've made or that I've bought second hand.

Thomasina and Septimus's end is one of the most emotional things Stoppard's ever written, for me. (Yes, more than Shakespeare in Love.) That was Lucy Whybrow and Edward Atterton for me, to give an idea of how long ago it was.

I love the play so much but I'm not sure anyone could replace Roger Allam's Bernard in my memory of it!

reminds me of the time the gas board knocked on my gran's front door saying someone had reported a smell of gas. She didn't have any mains or bottled gas in the house at all, ever.

got jumpscared by the audiobook of A Stroke Of The Pen - while it's a delight to hear the stories read by so many fabulous people, it was highly unpleasant to hear the introduction by Neil Gaiman and read by Neil Gaiman. Should have expected it, I suppose, but I didn't, for some reason.

it's also where my brother and sister-in-law got married! (That's working out a lot better than anything ever did for Catherine Earnshaw)

Donate to Putting the Brakes on the Breakdown, organized by Linda T Pez. Potato. PezNo. PezYes. To know Pez is to know joy and laughter and occasionally needi… Linda T needs your support for Putting the Brakes on the Breakdown

I'm in the twin cities and want today's news to bring relief, but it hasn't yet. A friend in Washington organized this to help me but lately, it's been hard to get out of my own way and admit I'm still in need. I'm facing big bills related to what's been going on here and I could use the help.
