Last year, I found out students weren't looking at feedback even after we literally had an assignment about faculty feedback. They look for a grade, try to figure out why they got that grade (on their own, no digging, no tutoring center, etc), and never adjust behaviors

The metacognition is broken

How Much Is Trump Profiting Off the Presidency? A comprehensive estimate of how much Trump and his family are making, from hotel mega-deals to crypto schemes, has been elusiveβ€”until now.

President Trump’s immediate family is making a dizzying sum of money that would be unimaginable without his Presidencies, including profits from overseas deals and at least five different crypto ventures. How much does it all amount to?

There is just no precedent in recent world history of an advanced industrialized country sabotaging its own scientific establishment, and destroying the base of scientific knowledge necessary for basic policymaking. An avowedly, actively anti-knowledge regime.

What’s your favorite food fact that is true but sounds totally made up?

I’ll start: about half of the mushrooms produced across the United States of America each year (more than 300 million pounds of mushrooms in recent years) are produced in *one county* in Pennsylvania.

The CEO of a a multi-trillion dollar company went to the White House, openly handed the US president a gift made of gold, and his company got a special exemption to tariffs the president has illegally imposed.

Also, the Founders took bribery so seriously the Constitution bans it 3 separate times.

to what extent does the administration intend to use this money to fund things that congress won't, and also, treating states like conquered territories to be dominated is one of those things that really makes you think the goal of these people is to dissolve the union

Why a NASA satellite that scientists and farmers rely on may be destroyed on purpose The Trump administration has asked NASA staffers to draw up plans to end at least two satellite missions that measure carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, according to current and former NASA employees.

Head of NASA Sean Duffy intends to destroy a satellite that collects key data on carbon dioxide and plant health, by causing it to burn up in the atmosphere. The U.S. Dept of Agriculture and private agriculture firms use the data to forecast crop yield, drought conditions and more.

I hate the movement to shift responsibility for health onto the individual, knowing full well that A. health is social, and B. our society is structured so that most individuals are not privy to the resources they would need for full health.
