Dumb but also dangerous. I know someone who refused prenatal care and then attempted an at home birth unassisted bc it was her 4th and she assumed she knew what she was doing. She almost gave birth in the car as her partner rushed her to the ER and was offended by the lectures from nurses.

I think the answer is read the fine print bc just like people insurance there are lots of exclusions. Like it doesn’t typically cover routine check ups and vaccines.

My students are so fixated on grades that they are terrified if they get Bs they won’t have options for graduate school or jobs. They measure success entirely on GPA instead of learning. So, they aren’t embarrassed at all…
